Brown And Green In - Oliver Out ....
Following on from Monday's dissapointing and toothless display at the hands of Hinckley Utd,
the Redditch Utd player 'merry go round' continued this week as one player left and another
two were brought in as Red's boss Gary Whild showed his determination to assemble a squad
of players capable of competing at this level.
Crowd favourite Jamie Oliver surprisingly took the decision this week to 'drop down' a level and
accept an offer from Red's former assistant manager Carl Heggs to join him at Kings Lynn -
who have had a 'below expectations' start to life in the Unibond League Premier Division and
are under pressure to bounce back at the first attempt.
Gary has brought in defender Aaron Brown and utility player Phil Green to bolster the squad.
Brown is a former England semi-professional international who played for Stafford Rangers, Studley and then Tamworth, where he really came to the fore under then boss Mark Cooper.
Brown (pictured) was sold to Reading in November 2005, originally going to the Madjeski Stadium on loan, before signing permanently in January 2006.
In June 2007, Reading took up the option to extend his contract by a year which kept him at the club for the duration of the 2007/08 season. He moved to Walsall on loan for the remainder of that contract on in March 2008.
He was released by Reading following their relegation from the Premier League and he signed a week-to-week contract with Yeovil Town in August 2008.
He was then released by Yeovil Town at the end of the 2008/09 season.
Green is a former Aston Villa and Evesham United defender or midfielder who was released by UniBond League Premier Division side King`s Lynn earlier this week.
