Striker Signs On Deadline Day ....
Following the expiration of striker Marco Adaggio's loan from Worcester City on Monday, the Red's
management team of Gary (Whild) and Micky (Moore) have moved to fill the void with the deadline
day signing of a replacement.
Joining the Reds is 20 year old, former Crewe Alexandra and Walsall Youth striker, Dexter
Ravenhill. Dexter joins from Evesham Utd but his career started at Crewe where he was a
regular part of their Youth side for 2 seasons, he was offered a contract for a 3rd term but chose
to move on to, then league 1 side, Walsall where he spent 2 seasons. During his time at
The Saddlers he joined Chasetown on loan before being released and moving on to sign for
local rivals Bromsgrove Rovers before his move to Evesham Utd earlier this season.
Red's manager Gary Whild said of Dexter's signing, 'with the Football Conference deadline for
player registrations for this season being 5pm today (Wednesday March 31st) it was important
for us to try and bring in another striker to see us through the remaining five games and confirm
our status in this division again for next season. Although Saturday's win over Corby Town should just
about see us safe it would be great to build on that tremendous result and guarantee our survival by getting another few points on the board and I am sure Dexter can help us achieve that, he is quick and strong and has scored goals at every club he has played for and at every level so he will be a good acquisition for us'
Gary said of Marco Adaggio's return to his parent club, Worcester City, 'Marco has been brilliant for us and scored a couple of vital goals recently in the games against Southport and Corby and we tried everything possible to keep him at The Valley till the end of the season but he is a Worcester City player and they are short of bodies so he has had to go back thats the way it is'
Gary went on to say, 'we would like to thank Marco for his vital contribution and total professionalism over the last month and also to thank Worcester City and their manager Carl Heeley for allowing us to borrow him for that period and we wish him well for the rest of the season'
Dexter will go straight into the squads for the Easter weekend double header this coming Saturday away at promotion chasing Alfreton Town and Easter Monday at home to simliar play off hopefuls Hinckley Utd.
