Duccy's Efforts Earn Blue Square Award ....
Andy Ducros' 3 goals in 4 games, along with his overall contribution to the Red's performances throughout Decemeber has been recognised by the Blue Square panel and he has been awarded the Blue Square North 'PLAYER OF THE MONTH' award for the month of December. The official press release from the Blue Square reads as follows;
Andy receiving his award from Red's Chairman Ken Rae before kick off against Eastwood Town
Andy said upon hearing of his achievement, ‘I am really pleased to get this award and it’s nice to be the first Redditch Utd player to ever get such recognition, which is a surprise to me as we have had some decent players in the past and have some very good players in the current squad. It’s great for the club to get some recognition too and I think this shows that the whole team, not just myself, have played well in December and I’m sure if we carry on the same way we’ll have a good remainder of the season’
Red’s manager, Gary (Whild) said of Andy’s award, ‘Andy deserves it as his form over the last month or so has been excellent. Earlier in the season he suffered from a series of niggly injuries which thankfully he now seems to be over. Andy has worked hard to get himself back to full fitness and as a result he has had a good run of games lately and is now showing everybody the ability we know he has. As a team, the way we are now playing allows Andy to get into the final third and really express himself which has been proven by his 3 goals in 4 games and his numerous other attacking contributions'
