Genesis Away In F.A. Trophy Draw ....
Following on from this seasons great run in the F.A. Cup and
eventual soul destroying last gasp defeat at the hands of
Kettering Town in the replay, attention now turns to the other
F.A. competition, the F.A. Trophy and in the 3rd qualifying round
of this season's competition the Red's have been drawn away
against old rivals Leigh Genesis – formerly Leigh RMI on
Saturday November 21st kick off 3pm.
The two teams last met at the old Hilton Park ground on
Saturday January 12th 2008 when the Red's came away with
a 1 vs 0 victory thanks to a solitary goal from Damian Markman
in the last 5 minutes of the match.
Leigh Genesis have had their fair share of troubles in recent seasons after being relegated at the end of season 2007/08
to the Unibond Northern Premier league then at the end of that season being relegated again to the Unibond Northern Division
where they currently lie 8th in the league table.
That said, this is a tricky tie for the Red's and Leigh will fancy their chances as they are unbeaten on home territory so far this season, with 4 wins and 1 draw at their impressive new 10,000 crowd capacity home, The Leigh Sports Village Stadium. The Redditch players will have to work hard to progress through this tie to reach the first round proper and a potentially lucrative tie against a Blue Square Premier League team.
Leigh also boast former England international, Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers professional Matt Jansen amongst their ranks and are currently managed by former Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers midfield stalwart Garry Flitcroft so they are not short on experience both on and off the pitch.

The admission prices for the match have been set at £8.00 Adults, £6.00 Concessions and £2.00 Under 18's
In the event of a draw, the replay will take place at The Valley Stadium on Tuesday November 24th kick off 7.45pm with admission prices as normal.
