Lamb Leaves Valley For Pastures New ....
REDDITCH United's Football Secretary, Robin Lamb, has left The Valley Stadium to take up a
similar post with local rivals Solihull Moors. Robin has been offered the same position, as
Football Secretary, with the Solihull based club but as it is much closer to his home and therefore
means far less travelling for him and less pressure on his personal life the advantages for him to
move were just too great. Red's Club Chairman Ken Rae said, 'Robin has been with us at
Redditch Utd for many years and has done a fantastic job for the football club in what is a thankless
task. The job of Football Secretary is one of the most important at any football club and very often
goes unappreciated - it takes a special kind of person who is committed and dedicated to the cause
and Robin has always been just that - a consumate professional and a great front man for the club in his years with us and I for one am sad to see him go, both from a club point of view and also a personal one as we have shared many a laugh on the often long road trips to away games' Ken went on to say, 'Solihull have gained themselves a very experienced and qualified man who is ideal for the job and Robin leaves behind a void at Redditch Utd that be hard to fill but I wish him every success for the future in his new role and I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank him for the many years of service to Redditch Utd Football Club and I look forward to a drink with him during the season when we lock horns with our old rivals, The Moors - oh and by the way it's Robin's round!'
Everybody connected with Redditch Utd would like to echo the Chairman's comments and thank Robin for his hard work and commitment over the years and for his friendship too and we all wish him well in his new venture.
Ken said finally, 'We will start the search for a replacement for Robin immediately as the role of Football Secretary is vital to the day to day operation of any football club and with the season only a few weeks away we need to move quickly to fill this important and essential position'
Any announcement will be posted on the website in due course.
