Brown-ed Off With Disallowed Strike .....

Harrogate Town 3 vs 2 Redditch United

Goals from Dave Bridgewater and Andy Ducros could not steer Redditch to victory at Harrogate. Bridgewater’s

powerful long-range effort after just six minutes ensured it was the perfect start for the visitors but they failed to

build on that early advantage.

Simon Sturdy levelled the scores on 18 minutes, turning the ball past Reds keeper Danny Lewis from Rory

Coleman’s free-kick.

Just three minutes later and the Yorkshire side had taken the lead when Simon Harrison rifled in an effort from

the corner of the area.

Coleman then added his name to the scoresheet six minutes before the break and it came courtesy of

another powerful shot from outside the area.

Redditch had more of the play in the second period and they also had an extra man when Coleman was sent off soon after the restart for aiming a kick at Richard Ball.

The visitors piled on the pressure and were rewarded when substitute Ducros slotted home following a lay-off from Ball on 68 minutes.

Injury time saw Tom Birch score from a free-kick only to have the effort ruled out for offside. Amidst the protests from the Redditch players, Aaron Brown was booked for dissent – a second yellow which resulted in him being sent off.
