Red's Last Gasp Anguish .....

Kettering Town 1 vs 1 Redditch United - F.A. Cup 4th Qualifying Round
Redditch United suffered stoppage time heartache after conceding a last gasp
equaliser at Blue Square Premier high-flyers Kettering Town.
The Reds were just 30 seconds away from a place in the first round of the
FA Cup when Moses Ashikodi scrambled home for the hosts to the despair of
the visitors.
Gary Whild’s side put a disappointing start to their Blue Square North league
campaign to one side as they set about causing an upset with a bright start.
They went close after only two minutes but Dave Bridgwater saw his free-kick
tipped over the bar by veteran keeper Lee Harper.
Redditch went close to taking the lead on 37 minutes but Bridgwater was again denied by Harper after he was sent clear following good hold-up play by Gary Hay.
The visitors finally got the goal their first half performance deserved moments later when James Dance broke in from the right to smash a fierce low drive into the bottom corner.
The Poppies started the second half well and on 53 minutes Ian Roper saw his header cleared off the line by Andy Ducros.
The strain was beginning to tell on the red-hot favourites when manager Mark Cooper was sent to the stands after showing his anger towards the officials.
Despite coming under a continued barrage, Redditch were still ahead at 90 minutes. But deep into the sixth minute of stoppage time, former Reds favourite Exodus Geoghaghan unleashed a long throw into the area and the grateful Ashikodi prodded home to set up a replay at the Valley Stadium on Tuesday evening.
