Tuesday 25th October REDS 1 vs 4 West Bromwich Albion

It was a good game against WBA and the REDS were unlucky not to force extra time but in the end WBA’s superior fitness told and they scored 3 goals in the last 11 minute.  Following the match all of the players, staff and officials from WBA were a credit to themselves and their club. They mixed with the supporters in the players lounge after the game, chatted with our own management and directors in the boardroom and were consummate professionals throughout the evening and when we came to clean the away dressing room later that evening it was found to be ‘spotless’ and had been left exactly how they had found it. This show of respect for our Club, our people and our facilities, was a refreshing change and fantastic to see from a club who play at the highest level of the English game.  Sadly all too often clubs at the higher levels of the football pyramid  show a lack of respect for their non-league neighbours but that could not have been further from the truth in this case.  It rekindles ones love of the game and restores the faith in the big clubs and it  goes to prove that actually SOME of them do care about the game at grass roots level.
