Micky Relishes The Challenge ....
After Carl Heggs's departure to Kings Lynn earlier this week, Red's manager Gary Whild
has wasted little time in appointing his new number two.
Former Red's player and Stratford Town manager, Micky Moore, has joined Redditch Utd
as Assistant Manager / First Team Coach and brings with him a wealth of valuable
footballing experience.
Speaking exclusively to Tim Delaney (Red's Youth Development Associate Director)
Micky said of his appointment, "This is a fantastic opportunity and when Gary
approached me I was honoured and didn't hesitate to accept the offer of working with
him at Redditch Utd. Gary and Carl (Heggs) had a great working relationship and did a
fantastic job last season in keeping the club in the Blue Square North despite the well publicised turmoil at the club both on and off the pitch. The results and performances during the latter part of the season were tremendous and I look forward to continuing that work with Gary. I had a few offers on the table which I was considering but when this one arrived I jumped at it, I played for the Club many years ago and I have fond memories of my time at The Valley and I felt that I did well when I was there and developed a good relationship with the club and its supporters and I am keen to build
on that in my new role"
Micky went on to say, "This is a massive challenge and is not going to be easy but it is one that I am relishing, I have worked with many of the current crop of players at previous clubs such as Red's favourite, Danny Lewis during my time at Solihull Borough (before the merger with Moor Green) and also Jack Byrne, one of last years brightest young talents, whilst at Stratford Town and I look forward to working with and getting to know the rest of the lads during pre-season"
Micky brings with him an impressive C.V. and a wealth of valuable experience having played as a pro for such club's as Derby County and Swansea City before moving into non-league football with Moor Green, Telford Utd, Stafford Rangers and of course Redditch Utd. Micky has also managed at Solihull Borough (pre merger) and Stratford Town and holds the highly prestigous UEFA 'A' licence coaching badge.
On behalf of everybody connected with Redditch Utd, we would like to welcome Micky to The Valley Stadium and wish him every sucess in his future at the Club.
