In what is a transitional period at the football club, all the REDS fans out there can rest assured in the knowledge that we are working tirelessly to bring in the type of players that will improve the first team squad.
Normally by September teams would have a settled squad, with just a little tweaking here and there.
Our rebuilding programme at this moment in time requires us to bring in four to five quality players who are proven at this level, or young players from professional clubs who have the raw materials to work with.
We have offered players improved terms to what they are earning at their current clubs, but they have opted to stay put, which has been very frustrating.
As part of our strategy, we are looking to forge strong links with professional clubs such as BirminghamCity, Walsall, CoventryCity, Port Vale, and CheltenhamTown.
I have also been in close contact with my old Sheffield Wednesday team mate Andy Sinton at Telford United, and we are looking to develop a relationship that can be beneficial to both Clubs.
With Mark’s contacts on the non league circuit we feel in time we can bring in good players who will make us competitive in every game we play.
Over the last couple of games there have been encouraging signs, but unfortunately this hasn’t been sustained over the 90 minutes.
They say a week is a long time in football, and I am sure with new signings and a much needed win, we can very quickly turn our fortunes around.
Thank you for your support
Up the REDS!
