Chairman Chris Swan has issued a rallying call to business leaders as he prepares for his first season at the helm of Redditch United.
Work has started on the Valley Stadium pitch and the clubhouse is being revamped with vital repairs being completed over the summer.Now Swan wants the business community to back the club’s exciting plans to challenge for a place in the Football Conference within five years.
“It is all about building the right foundations,” the Redditch chairman explained.
“What we do now will reap rewards in future years. We are building a team to deliver both on and off the pitch and we are working on developing the facilities.
“But we also need the backing of local businesses to make this work.
“We have forged many new links already and have a number of people advertising on boards around the pitch. But we also need a major commercial partner to come on board as a shirt sponsor, someone we can work alongside during the coming campaign – and hopefully in future seasons too!
“Our friends at NEW College were the club’s main sponsor last season and while we will continue to work closely with them, they are unable to make the necessary funds available for the coming season.
“That has created an opportunity for another business or organisation to get involved at an exciting time for the town’s leading sports club.”
