The REDS entertained a Swindon Supermarine team routed to the bottom of the league, with both teams needing a win to kick start their respective seasons.
Two new additions for the REDS saw Will Richards return to the Valley along with Solihull Moors team mate Pawel Tomczak.
In a fairly even first half it was the REDS who settled into more of a passing game in the opening exchanges with Warmer and Richards dominant for the home team in centre midfield, and Moses Garvey and Bullimore linking up to good effect down the Reds right wing.
A lapse in concentration nearly saw Hickman gift the visitors the lead following a tame back pass to Coleman that was cut out, but Coleman recovered well to save with his legs.
The best chance of the half fell to Osbourne who arrived at the far post only to see his shot cleared off the line by a defender.
It was the REDS with the lion’s share of possession, but Swindon always look lively on the counter attack, with intelligent passing coupled with good movement.
2nd Half
With a goalless first half it was all to play for in the second half, and if the first 45 minutes was anything to go by chances would be few and far between.
It was the visitors who started on the front foot, taking the game to the REDS.
With Adam Wood s first senior outing in over five months, it was proving to be a big task against a rampant Swindon Supermarine frontline.
Unable to clear their lines and stop the crosses, and with the REDS front players unable to hold the ball up it was wave after wave of attacking football from the visitors which finally paid off in the 59th minute.
Following another cross from the right wing which Bullimore was unable to clear, the ball was scrambled over the line by Etheridge to give the visitors the lead.
The REDS pressed hard in the latter stages but Swindon stood firm against a barrage of set plays and crosses, to seal a win.
A welcome break from the league, will see the REDS take on Hednesford in the FA Cup on Saturday, still looking for their first win under Fenemore and Hyde.
