Young Rowe Joins From Blues ....

Following on from Centre Half, Liam Murray's return to local rivals, Solihull Moors, Gary Whild has brought in valuable cover to help bolster the Red's defence over the busy festive period. And with the possibility of 7 matches between now and the end of January his addition to the squad could prove vital.

The possibility of a loan move for Jacob came about following a conversation between the Red's very own stalwart defender, Jerry Gill and Birmingham City's Academy Manager, Terry Westley. Jerry who still has a strong Blues connection through his coaching work with Birmingham City's Community Youth programme said, "I was contacted by Terry (Westley) early last week and was asked whether Redditch were in need of a central defender on loan for a month and when he offered the services of Jacob I had no hesitation in contacting Gary (Whild) to see if we could do anything and thankfully we have. Jacob comes with the inavaluable experience of being part of a professional Premier League club and it's a great opportunity for him to lfurther develop his game in a tough, competitive environment such as the Conference North" Jerry continued, "this deal has advantages for both Blues and Reds - whilst it is a fantastic opportunity for us (Redditch Utd) to add quality players to strengthen the squad we have at The Valley, from the Blues point of view, whilst Jacob is with us I can keep a watchful eye on him and report back to Terry Westley on his progress on a regular basis. Hopefully this could be the first of many link ups between the two clubs where players come to Redditch Utd to gain valuable experience"

Jacob will hopefully make his debut for the Reds on Boxing Day in the home clash against Gloucester City - weather permitting.

There is a pitch inspection scheduled for 10.30am on the morning of the match and information will be posted on the website as soon as possible following the refs inspection.
