Where the Redditch United standings sit this season
Redditch United are 13th of 22 in the Southern League Premier Division Central on 17 points, having played 12: 4 won, 5 drawn, 3 lost, 19 scored and 17 conceded. That is a goal difference of +2.
The clubs either side are Racing Club Warwick in 12th on 17 and Leiston in 14th on 15. Real Bedford lead the league on 32 from 14. At this stage of a forty-two match season the Redditch United standings say less about the final table than the fixture list does, which is why the form column matters more than the position.
The table above carries the last five results for every club as W, D and L tokens, filled, outlined and dashed, so the run of form reads without depending on colour. The Southern League Premier Central table is the league's own record rather than a calculation made here, and it is re-read once a day.
The shape of the division, not just the order
The same points, drawn to length. A league table sorts; it does not show how far apart the rows are.
What each column in the league table means
P is matches played, W won, D drawn and L lost. GF is goals scored and GA goals conceded, and GD is the difference between them. Pts is the points total: three for a win and one for a draw. Where a club has had points deducted, the deduction is already inside the figure the league publishes.
Two clubs level on points are separated on goal difference and then on goals scored, which is why GD is worth reading before position early in a season. A club with a match in hand can be several places lower than its form suggests, so the played column belongs next to the points column rather than at the far end of the row.
Promotion, play-offs and relegation in this division
The Premier Division Central is one of the two Southern League Premier divisions, alongside Premier Division South. Both sit at step three of the National League System, which is the seventh tier of English football counting down from the Premier League. Above them is step two, the National League North and South; below is step four, which for this region means the Northern Premier League and Southern League divisions one.
Promotion out of step three goes to the champions, with a play-off among the clubs immediately below them for a second place. Relegation works the same way in reverse, and the number of clubs going down in any season depends on how the leagues above and below are balanced, because the National League System is re-organised laterally every summer. A club can finish in the same position two years running and be relegated in one of them and not the other.
That lateral re-organisation is also why a club's division changes without it moving level. Redditch have been placed in the Midland Division, Division One West, the Western Division and the Premier Division Central across the years without any of those moves being a promotion or a relegation. The table on this page is the current arrangement, not a permanent address.
One consequence for reading the table: points totals are not comparable between the two Premier divisions. They play the same number of matches against different opposition, and the champions of one are not measured against the champions of the other except in the play-off structure above them.
Reading a forty-two match season six matches in
A forty-two match programme means fourteen points is a third of a promotion campaign and fourteen points is also, in a bad year, the gap to safety. Six matches in, the table is a sample rather than a verdict: a club on nine points from six has a points-per-game rate that projects to sixty-three over the season, and nobody at this level sustains their September rate through a winter of postponements.
The more useful early read is the goal columns. Goals scored and conceded settle faster than points do, because a single result can swing three points but rarely swings the goal difference of a whole season. A club with a positive goal difference and a middling points total has usually been unlucky rather than flattered, and the reverse is worth noticing too.
The form column carries the third signal. Five results is a short run, but at this level a run of five is often the whole story of a squad's fitness: a club with three players missing shows it inside a fortnight, and a club that has just added a striker shows that inside a fortnight too.

Across 8 completed seasons in this division the best finish is 5th, in 2023/24, on 70 points from 40 matches. The Southern League placed the club in the Premier Division Central when it restructured for 2018/19, so this table is the club's whole record at this level.
Two of those seasons were cut short: 2020/21 after 8 matches. The positions shown for them are as the table stood when play stopped, not the outcome of a completed programme, and they are best read alongside the played column rather than on their own.
Read together with the current Redditch United standings at the top of this page, the pattern is a club that has finished between fifth and eighteenth in a twenty-two club league, with the two extremes a season apart. The full match-by-match record for the current season is on the fixtures and results page.
Frequently asked questions
Where are Redditch United in the Southern League table right now?
13th of 22 in the Premier Central, on 17 points from 12 matches — 4 won, 5 drawn, 3 lost. That is the league's own record as this page last read it, once a day, so the sentence changes with the table.
Who is top, and how far ahead?
Real Bedford, on 32 points from 14 matches, 15 clear of Redditch. Immediately below Redditch are Leiston on 15. Immediately above are Racing Club Warwick on 17, a gap of 0 points.
How many teams go up and how many go down?
The division is one of two Southern League Premier divisions at step three of the National League System, the seventh tier. It runs to 22 clubs and a 42-match programme. Promotion and relegation places are set by the league each season and are published in its own regulations rather than here, because a number quoted from memory is the kind that quietly goes out of date.
Why does the table on this page sometimes differ from another site's?
Because of when it was read and what it counts. This table is the league's own standing, league matches only — cup ties are listed on the fixtures page and are not in these totals. A table that includes a cup result, or one read before a midweek round was entered, will not match.
What does a points deduction look like here?
The league records deductions in the standing itself, so a club's points total already has any deduction applied. Where a deduction exists this page shows it against the club instead of silently publishing the net figure.
